ECTRIMS 2023 | ECTRIMS highlights: AI, BTK inhibitors & EBV

Timothy Coetzee, PhD, National MS Society, New York, NY, explores the potential role of artificial intelligence (AI) in understanding and managing multiple sclerosis (MS), particularly in the context of imaging tools and analyzing large volumes of research data. Dr Coetzee also highlights the anticipation for the results of BTK inhibitors in MS treatment, as well as the consideration of other modalities like hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. An additional emerging area of interest is the connection between Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) and MS, both as a potential risk factor and developing antiviral strategies to manage EBV’s impact on MS. This interview took place at the European Committee for Treatment and Research in Multiple Sclerosis (ECTRIMS) Congress 2023 in Milan, Italy.
