MDS 2023 | Embracing online content to reach a global audience

Francisco Cardoso, MD, PhD, FAAN, The Federal University of Minas Gerais, Belo Horizonte, Brazil, shares how the Movement Disorder Society (MDS) evolved over the last few years, especially in the context of increasing globalization. The COVID-19 pandemic, although a tragic event, presented a unique opportunity to utilize online content more effectively. By maximizing its online presence, MDS reached a global audience, transcending economic barriers. This strategic action has proven instrumental in expanding their reach and impact. Prof. Cardoso highlights the importance of leveraging digital platforms to ensure information and resources are accessible to all, even in times of crisis.
