FENS 2020 | Propranolol could help treat drug addiction

Amy Milton, PhD, University of Cambridge, Cambridge, UK, discusses the use of propranolol – a beta-blocker used to treat high blood pressure – to prevent reconsolidation and updating of memories. In experiments to test potential therapies, propranolol was shown to reduce the relapse-like behavior that was being elicited by the drug use cues. This interview was recorded during an online conference call with The Video Journal of Neurology (VJNeurology).
