Laszlo Csiba, MD, PhD, DSci, University of Debrecen, Debrecen, Hungary, discusses recent advances in stroke diagnosis and therapy. Thrombolysis has significantly improved treatment outcomes, but hemorrhagic stroke remains a challenge. Dr Csiba highlights the importance of identifying high-risk patients, like those with recent transient ischemic attacks (TIAs) or minor strokes, as stroke recurrence is common. Additionally, Dr Csiba explores the potential benefits of combining neuroprotectants with reperfusion therapy to improve tissue survival. This interview took place at the European Academy of Neurology (EAN) 2023 Congress in Budapest, Hungary.
