Daniel Goldenholz, MD, PhD, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Boston, MA, discusses recent developments in seizure forecasting and monitoring by artificial intelligence (AI). Early research in this field utilized EEG reading to predict seizures. An improved understanding of the statistical features of seizures, combined with advancements in technology, has led to new developments such as wearable devices. Experts hope that, in the near future, these devices will be able to successfully detect when the user is at high risk of a seizure. This interview took place at the American Academy of Neurology Annual Meeting 2023 in Boston, MA.
