Brain dark matter, identified using quantitative Gradient Recalled Echo (qGRE) MRI, can be a valuable in vivo biomarker for early detection of Alzheimer’s disease. Satya VVN Kothapalli, PhD, Washington University in St. Louis, St. Louis, MO, discusses the next steps going forward for the investigation of brain dark matter as a new biomarker of neurodegeneration in Alzheimer’s disease.
