Marcello Moccia, MD, PhD, University of Naples Federico II, Naples, Italy, discusses the process used to develop the novel diagnostic criteria for multiple sclerosis (MS). To improve the applicability and relevance of the criteria globally, evidence from specialist centers worldwide was collated to reach a consensus on the most appropriate criteria for diagnosing the disease. This interview took place at the 40th Congress of the European Committee for Treatment and Research in Multiple Sclerosis (ECTRIMS 2024) in Copenhagen, Denmark.
