Paola Zaratin, PhD, Italian Multiple Sclerosis Society, Genoa, Italy, highlights the pressing need to bridge the existing divide between clinical trials, research, and patient care in the realm of drug research and development. Emphasizing the importance of incorporating patient experiential knowledge, Dr Zaratin suggests that patients can be instrumental in merging these traditionally separate domains. By respecting recommendations from diverse stakeholders and ensuring effective patient involvement, we can enhance the development and implementation of treatments. This interview took place at the European Committee for Treatment and Research in Multiple Sclerosis (ECTRIMS) Congress 2023 in Milan, Italy.
