WSC 2023 | Revolutionizing stroke care: the impact of telestroke care

In many cases, stroke patients arriving at smaller clinics without on-site neurologists face delays in receiving thrombolytics, resulting in poorer outcomes, including stroke-related disabilities. With the introduction of telestroke, neurologists can now conduct real-time virtual consultations with patients in these smaller healthcare facilities, ensuring quicker access to treatment. Notably, the success of telestroke has prompted its integration into larger healthcare facilities, extending its mission to reduce the time from stroke patient arrival to the administration of crucial treatment.
