CONy 2020 | Do diffusion weighted imaging negative strokes exist?

Andrew Demchuk, MD, FRCPC, Hotchkiss Brain Institute, University of Calgary, Calgary, Canada, discusses diffusion weighted imaging (DWI) and its importance in stroke. DWI negativity is uncommon but can occur in mild strokes. In order to minimize that scenario, imaging should occur later after onset. When patients are imaged in the early stages of stroke, DWI negativity is more common. This interview took place during the Virtual World Congress on Controversies in Neurology (CONy) 2020.
