Alexander Tsiskaridze, MD, PhD, DSc, FESO, MAE, Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, Tbilisi, Georgia, discusses the importance of considering genetic risk profiles for personalized prevention in intracerebral hemorrhage. Numerous variants have been discovered in genome-wide association studies that are associated with an increased risk of ICH occurrence. Genetic risk scores are being developed that account for the contribution of these individual risk genes. In this way, individuals most at risk can be identified and modifiable risk factors can be addressed. This interview took place at the World Stroke Congress (WSC) 2023 in Toronto, Canada.
