ECTRIMS 2023 | Reflections on MS research progress

Giancarlo Comi, MD, Vita-Salute San Raffaele University, Milan, Italy, highlights a notable shift in recent studies towards prioritizing patient-reported outcomes. This evolution signifies an enhanced focus on granting patients a more central role in the narrative surrounding their conditions. Despite no significant revelations in therapeutic measures, there is valuable insight into the current state and understanding of the disease. Prof. Comi expresses satisfaction with the success of the Milan meeting, especially the strong participation and noticeable presence of young researchers, heralding a promising future for research in this field. This interview took place at the European Committee for Treatment and Research in Multiple Sclerosis (ECTRIMS) Congress 2023 in Milan, Italy.
