EAN 2023 | Comorbid sleep conditions in epilepsy: identification & management

Samson Khachatryan, MD, PhD, National Institute of Health of Armenia, Yerevan, Armenia, discusses the identification and management of comorbid sleep conditions in epilepsy patients. Clinicians managing epilepsy should consider potential interactions between newer sleep drugs and antiseizure medications, as well as potential non-pharmaceutical therapeutic options. Recent studies and case reports highlight the impact of effectively managing comorbid conditions, such as sleep apnea, on seizure control, to improve patient quality of life. This interview took place at the European Academy of Neurology (EAN) 2023 Congress in Budapest, Hungary.
