AAN 2023 | Improving quality of life in mitochondrial disease patients

Kenneth Myers, MD, PhD, FRCPC, Montreal Childrens Hospital, Montreal, Quebec, explains the importance of improving the quality of life for patients with mitochondrial disease. These patients may have a plethora of neurological problems, making quality of life the main focus in clinical trials. Treatment with deoxycytidine and deoxythymidine has improved quality of life for patients in the recent open-label trial. This interview took place at the American Academy of Neurology Annual Meeting 2023 in Boston, MA.
