EAN 2022 | The diagnostic evaluation of hereditary and acquired neuromuscular diseases

Neuromuscular diseases affect the peripheral nervous system, including the motor and sensory neurons, the muscle, or the neuromuscular junction. Thus, the term neuromuscular diseases encompass a vast array of different syndromes. Anna Kostera-Pruszczyk, MD, PhD, Medical University of Warsaw, Warsaw, Poland, discusses the diagnosis of neuromuscular diseases. The differential diagnosis between acquired and hereditary conditions is highly important since it will significantly affect treatment decisions. This interview took place at the European Academy of Neurology (EAN) 2022 Congress in Vienna, Austria.
