IHC 2023 | Cinnarizine for the prophylaxis of migraine associated vertigo

Mansoureh Togha, MD, Tehran University of Medical Sciences, Tehran, Iran, discusses the effectiveness of drugs in migraine treatment and the need for alternative options, especially for children. The use of beta-blockers and antiepileptic drugs has been well-studied and categorized into different levels of evidence. However, there is a lack of data on drug efficacy in children with migraines. Prof. Togha then introduces cinnarizine, a calcium channel blocker with anti-histaminic effects, which has shown promise in treating migraine headaches associated with vertigo, particularly in children. This interview took place at the International Headache Congress (IHC) 2023 in Seoul, Korea.
