So the talk is trying to make nurses think about their professional role and how it does or should interact with research more generally within stroke with an awareness that stroke care is multidisciplinary and that’s important but it’s trying to pick out those nuances of nursing care and what those are related to in terms of research. It’s difficult, I think, because of the complexity of what we do and we get involved in so many things as a profession that often our visibility sometimes can be lost...

So I’m going to talk a little bit about why I got involved with research and what my research was about talk about some of the opportunities there are for nurses to get involved with research where we’ve had real impact in the past and just make nurses think of themselves as a crucial part of that involvement.
