EEC 2022 | Advances in ultra-long-term monitoring and the field of seizure forecasting

Pedro Viana, MD, PhD Candidate, King’s College London, London, UK, talks on a multi-center study investigating various types of ultra-long term monitoring devices for the forecasting of seizures in patients with epilepsy. Dr Viana comments on the use of mobile apps which patients with epilepsy can use to report their seizures and other symptoms and how this data can be used to calculate future seizure risk. The tendency of seizures to cycle both in the short term, following circadian cycles, and longer term, following weekly or monthly patterns, is also discussed. This interview took place at the 14th European Epilepsy Congress (EEC) 2022 in Geneva, Switzerland.
