EEC 2024 | The need for technological solutions for objective long-term monitoring of epileptic seizures

Over one-third of patients with epilepsy are resistant to available treatments and continue to experience unpredictable seizures. Although patients are encouraged to log these seizures in a diary, Pedro Viana, MD, PhD(c), King’s College London, London, UK, highlights that seizure diaries are often unreliable due to under or over-reporting of events. This underscores the need for technological solutions for the long-term monitoring of seizures in an objective and convenient way. This interview took place at the 15th European Epilepsy Congress (EEC) 2024 in Rome, Italy.
