MDS 2023 | Advancements in therapies for movement disorders: learnings from other disease areas

Tiago Outeiro, PhD, University Medical Center Göttingen, Göttingen, Germany, discusses the progress being made in novel therapeutic strategies therapies for movement disorders. Learnings from recent developments in other diseases, such as multiple sclerosis and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, are being applied to movement disorders. Clinical trials are underway, with the hope of finding positive signals for treatment options in the near future. Treatment for Parkinson’s disease and Huntington’s disease are expected to advance significantly. Overall, there is optimism and anticipation for advancements in treating patients with movement disorders. This interview took place at the 2023 International Congress of Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders in Copenhagen, Denmark.
