For example, in my laboratory, we are working on the protein content of extracellular vesicles and we have found there is a certain profile of proteomic expression in these vesicles, circulating vesicles, that are linked to good prognosis. These are certain proteins that are related to functions such as inhibition of oxidation or apoptosis. So we are now trying to synthesize these proteins and to test them in preclinical trials to verify if they are really protective against cellular damage in hemorrhage to further develop this potential therapy into clinical trials, Phase I clinical trials. We are just at the beginning but this is really promising and I think this is a real application of blood biomarkers at the moment.
