Sleep Europe 2024 | Implementing applications of circadian health in public institutions and society

Christian Cajochen, PhD, Psychiatric Hospital of the University of Basel, Basel, Switzerland, comments on how the absence of light can lead to an increased risk of problems with sleep, metabolism, and mental health. Solutions such as maximizing daylight with architecture or using human-centric lighting to regulate circadian rhythms and improve sleep are efficacious even in healthy individuals, which necessitates the widespread education of circadian health and its applications in society. This interview took place at the Sleep Europe 2024 congress in Seville, Spain.
