EAN 2024 | Developing a training course for HCPs who use brain stimulation techniques

Andrea Antal, MD, PhD, University of Goettingen, Göttingen, Germany, discusses the need for standardized training and certification courses for healthcare professionals (HCPs) using brain stimulation techniques, such as magnetic and electrical stimulation, across the European Union. She highlights the potential benefits of a unified course organized by the European Society for Brain Stimulation (ESBS) to ensure the safe and effective use of these methods. The first draft of the course is already available for national societies to comment on, with plans to launch the program in 2025. This interview took place at the European Academy of Neurology (EAN) Annual Meeting 2024 in Helsinki, Finland.
