Sleep Europe 2024 | Dopaminergic agents diminish the response to subsequent non-dopaminergic treatment in RLS

Diego Garcia-Borreguero, MD, PhD, Sleep Research Institute, Madrid, Spain, discusses a study showing that people with restless legs syndrome (RLS) previously treated with dopaminergic agents have a diminished response to non-dopaminergic drugs. The findings suggest that prior use of dopaminergic agents induces subclinical pathophysiological changes in RLS, highlighting the importance of avoiding dopaminergic treatments. This interview took place at the Sleep Europe 2024 congress in Seville, Spain.
