AAN 2024 | The intersection of genetics and social determinants of health in MS

Lilyana Amezcua, MD, FAAN, Keck School of Medicine, University of Southern California, Los Angeles, CA, discusses how race and ethnicity are social constructs and explores using genetic ancestry to better understand their genetic components. Her research aims to integrate genetic information with self-identification and social factors to analyze their impact on individuals with multiple sclerosis.
