Jessica Ailani, MD, MedStar Georgetown University Hospital, Georgetown, Washington, DC, discusses the drawbacks of telemedicine. While there are many advantages to telemedicine, it will not be able to replace in-person visits. The building of the patient-physician relationship is hindered over virtual meetings as well as picking up subtle cues. Telemedicine can be used to improve healthcare but it should be used within its limitations. This interview took place during the Virtual World Congress on Controversies in Neurology (CONy) 2020.
