Adnan Mujanovic, MD, PhD, Inselspital, Bern University Hospital, Bern, Switzerland, discusses the TECNO trial (NCT05499832), in which intra-arterial tenecteplase did not increase reperfusion rates after incomplete thrombectomy. Dr Mujanovic explains that TECNO was powered for an imaging rather than a clinical endpoint, and that subgroups and clinical outcomes still need to be examined. He highlights that, as with early thrombectomy and medium vessel occlusion trials, future intra-arterial thrombolysis trials will need better patient selection and more refined subgroups to identify who benefits. This interview took place at the 18th World Stroke Congress (WSC) in Seoul, Korea.
