World Sleep 2022 | The role of RBD in neurodegenerative disorders
Ambra Stefani, MD, PhD, Medical University of Innsbruck, Innsbruck, Austria, discusses the role of REM sleep behavior disorder (RBD) in neurodegenerative diseases. Dr Stefani explains that RBD is now recognized as an early-phase alpha-synucleinopathy and plays an important role in the diagnosis of patients. Dr Stefani then briefly discusses the importance of conducting video polysomnography when diagnosing patients with RBD to ensure that an accurate diagnosis is made. This interview took place during the World Sleep Congress 2022 in Rome, Italy.
