CONy 2020 | Deep brain stimulation: benefits for both motor and non-motor symptoms

Keyoumars Ashkan, MB BCh, MD, MRCP, FRCS, FRCP, FRCPS, FRCPath, FRCS, King’s College London, London, UK, discusses the benefits of deep brain stimulation (DBS) over other invasive infusion therapies. Parkinson’s disease is highly complex and has a range of non-motor symptoms that can have an impact on the quality of life. Prof. Ashkan highlights that DBS is an effective treatment for both motor and non-motor symptoms. This interview took place during the Virtual World Congress on Controversies in Neurology (CONy) 2020.
