EAN 2023 | Diagnosis and management of not heritable rare cerebrovascular disorders

Anita Arsovska, MD, PhD, University of Ss Cyril and Methodius, Medical Faculty, Skopje, Macedonia, talks about the diagnosis and management of not heritable rare cerebrovascular disorders. Rare non-heritable conditions include moyamoya angiopathy, primary angiitis of the central nervous system, reversible cerebral vasoconstriction syndrome, Sneddon syndrome, Susac syndrome, and Takotsubo syndrome. All these entities have specific treatments; however, there are frequent overlapping features among them, making diagnosis challenging. The development of more sensitive neuroimaging tools and biomarkers would improve the diagnosis process, enabling specific and appropriate treatment. This interview took place at the European Academy of Neurology (EAN) 2023 Congress in Budapest, Hungary.
