ESOC 2024 | Carotid stenting during thrombectomy for stroke patients with carotid tandem lesions

Fabiano Cavalcante, MD, PhD Candidate, from Amsterdam UMC, Amsterdam, Netherlands, shares his thoughts on the future of stroke treatment for patients with carotid tandem lesions. There are several trials currently ongoing focusing on these patients, such as TITAN (NCT03978988), CASES, and EASI-TOC (NCT04261478). They are comparing the effect of acute carotid stenting during endovascular thrombectomy (EVT) versus no stenting/delayed treatment with carotid endarterectomy. This interview was conducted at the 10th European Stroke Organisation Conference (ESOC) 2024 in Basel, Switzerland.
