AAN 2022 | Emergence of CBT as first-line treatment for insomnia

Michelle Jonelis, MD, Redwood Pulmonary Medical Associates, Redwood City, CA, discusses exciting developments in the insomnia field. Insomnia was already a prevalent sleep disorder – however, with the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, cases have drastically risen. Subsequently, this has presented a unique opportunity to promote cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I) as the primary intervention as well as behavioral management strategies. This interview took place during the American Academy of Neurology Congress in Seattle, WA.
