EEC 2024 | Challenges in validating a clinical prediction model of seizure risk in patients with epilepsy

In this video, Thomas Spain, University of Liverpool, Liverpool, UK, outlines some challenges faced when validating a novel clinical prediction model of epilepsy seizure risk and highlights how these challenges were circumnavigated to successfully validate the tool. Validation proved difficult as the model was not predicting a single outcome but rather the risk of multiple seizures (seizure rate). This interview took place at the 15th European Epilepsy Congress (EEC) 2024 in Rome, Italy.
