ESOC 2024 | Piloting support after stroke based on registry follow-up data

Dominique Cadilhac, PhD, MPH, BN, RN, Monash University & Florey Institute of Neuroscience and Mental Health, Melbourne, Australia, outlines a support program aimed at improving the quality of life of patients after stroke. Registry data collected at 3 and 6 months post-stroke shows significant challenges for patients such as anxiety, depression, pain, and mobility issues. In response, the A-LISTS program has been developed to act of these responses from patients, ensuring they are connected with necessary services, preventing them from missing out on critical support. A randomized, controlled, pilot trial is underway to test the feasibility of the follow-up service for people living in the community with stroke identified as vulnerable based on the registry follow-up data. This interview took place at the 10th European Stroke Organisation Conference (ESOC) 2024 in Basel, Switzerland.
