Christian Meisel, MD, Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin, Berlin Institute of Health, Berlin, Germany, explains his study looking at video-based detection of generalized tonic-clonic seizures using deep learning, which was found to be feasible and efficacious. Such algorithms could help warn caregivers of an impending grand mal seizure and potentially reduce the risk of serious consequences.
