EAN 2023 | Exploring neuromodulation in migraine management

Neuromodulation is an expanding non-pharmacological therapy area in the field of migraine management. Alan Rapoport, MD, University of California, Los Angeles, CA, discusses the versatility of neuromodulators, which can be used for acute care, prevention, or both. One prominent option is Nerivio®, designed for both purposes. When a patient places this device on their upper arm, it generates a stimulus that triggers the brain’s pain modulation mechanism, effectively reducing migraine-related pain. Many patients prefer neuromodulation as it allows them to avoid the potential side effects associated with medications. This interview took place at the European Academy of Neurology (EAN) 2023 Congress in Budapest, Hungary.
