EAN 2024 | Patient perspectives on RLS management

Ambra Stefani, MD, PhD, Medical University of Innsbruck, Innsbruck, Austria, discusses the importance of considering patient perspectives on the treatment of restless leg syndrome (RLS). During the EAN/EFNA interactive session at EAN 2024, a presentation was given on patients’ views on the current drug and non-drug therapeutic options in RLS, the management of augmentation, and unmet needs, including insufficient knowledge among general practitioners. Dr Stefani emphasizes the need for healthcare providers to be aware of patient priorities, given the significant impact severe RLS symptoms can have on quality of life. This interview took place at the European Academy of Neurology (EAN) Annual Meeting 2024 in Helsinki, Finland.
