CONy 2024 | An update on the dashboard of vitals in Parkinson’s: working towards global implementation

K Ray Chaudhuri, MD, DSc, FRCP, FEAN, King’s College London, London, UK, provides an overview and update on Chaudhuri’s Dashboard of Vitals in Parkinson’s syndrome: a tool developed to detect changes in the essential ‘vitals’ that should be monitored in patients with Parkinson’s disease (PD) but have often been overlooked in the clinic due to time constraints. Prof. Chaudhuri outlines the five vitals, which include motor function; non-motor symptoms; vision, gut, and oral health; bone health and fall/fracture risk; and comedications. These key aspects of care are central to the wellness of patients with PD and a global program has been initiated with the aim of implementing the dashboard in 20 centers in order to personalize PD care and allow healthcare professionals to adopt a more holistic management approach. This interview took place at the 18th Annual Congress on Controversies in Neurology (CONy 2024) in London, UK.
