Sleep Europe 2024 | Current perspectives on the management of CSA

Winfried Randerath, MD, FCCP, Centre of Sleep Medicine and Respiratory Care, Bethanien Hospital, University of Cologne, Solingen, Germany, gives guidance on the management of central sleep apnea (CSA). He highlights that treatment should be initiated if the patient is symptomatic, with the first line of treatment being continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP). If this doesn’t improve symptoms, other options should be explored based on patient preference and what is available in that region. This interview took place at the Sleep Europe 2024 congress in Seville, Spain.
