Sarah Lidstone, MD, PhD, Toronto Western Hospital and the University of Toronto, Ontario, Canada, outlines the main unanswered questions in functional movement disorders (FMD). Although the last ten years have seen a dramatic resurgence of interest in FMD research, there continues to be a lack of understanding of its pathophysiology. Currently, the underlying mechanisms are an intense area of study, and as more is understood about the mind and body connections, further information on FMD will be uncovered, including novel ways to treat patients. This interview took place at the American Academy of Neurology 2022 Congress in Seattle, WA.
