AAN 2022 | Digital CBT as a primary intervention for insomnia

Michelle Jonelis, MD, Redwood Pulmonary Medical Associates, Redwood City, CA, discusses the use of digital cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia CBT as a primary intervention for insomnia. Evidence supports digital CBT for insomnia (CBT-I), indicating good outcome measures. However, better results are still exhibited for in-person CBT-I or virtual CBT-I over teleconsultations when compared with CBT-I provided with an app. Nevertheless, individuals with insomnia can greatly benefit from this therapy; the ease of access and introduction to the disorder offers a perfect starting point. This interview took place during the American Academy of Neurology 2022 Congress in Seattle, WA.
