AAN 2021 | The stigma of migraine in women’s life

Susan Hutchinson, MD, Orange County Migraine & Headache Center, Irvine, CA, comments on the prevalence of migraine in women. This disease affects women three times more than men, and this difference is observed since puberty. One of the hypotheses for this fact is the hormone oscillation experienced by women. Dr Hutchinson highlights the differences between headache and migraine and highlights the need to increase awareness about the disease to help women and men receive appropriate care. This interview took place during the American Academy of Neurology (AAN) 2021 Annual Meeting.
